COT

Message today is about forgiveness. In Isaiah 43:25, Hebrews 10:17, Romans 4:8, among others it is written that when God forgives our sin, he also forgets it. As humans I feel like we often say we forgive someone, but we're not willing to forget it. We feel that might make us look foolish if we're duped again by similar behavior, and I think of it like putting the transgression on the top shelf somewhere. You go about your normal day and you might not think of it all that often, but you always keep it to go back to if needed. When I think of forgiving and forgetting the sin, I think of taking that hurt and throwing it in the dumpster to be taken away and gone from you forever. We think we're protecting ourselves by keeping the hurt with us, but really we're only hurting ourselves by not giving true forgiveness that God models for us.
